Your child has been diagnosed with autism.

As a parent, you may wonder: what’s next; how can I better prepare my child for their future? That’s where ABA comes in.

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a branch of behavioral therapy designed to develop skills like communication, language, social cues, and more. Its main goal is to reinforce any desired behavior and discourage unwanted behavior.

ABA is a common treatment used in the autism community focusing on giving kiddos and their families the tools necessary to live full, independent lives. At Sandbox ABA; we teach the skills needed to live freely and autonomously. If you’re new to the neurodivergent world, have no fear. Sandbox is here for you.

A Note On ABA

ABA has had a controversial history; however, the methods and approaches to ABA have changed drastically over time. Modern therapists are more concerned with equipping children with autism and their families with the skills necessary to live independent lives.

More modern ABA techniques focus on developing behavioral, social, and emotional skills with a lot of emphasis on the individual needs of each patient. We strive to give parents the tools they need to enable them to be better prepared to teach and guide their children. The strategies taught are aimed at encouraging learning and growth rather than change.

Sandbox’s process for beginning services

First, we will schedule a time for you to come in and learn more about Sandbox and the style of ABA we provide.

A supervisor/Board Certified Behavior Analyst will provide you with a consultation and schedule an assessment if we all decide to move forward.

Once the assessment is complete, we will begin direct 1:1 sessions.
