Melissa joined Sandbox in 2013 and helped open our first center. Before that, she was an office manager at the Emergency Animal Hospital, which is how she met Rebecca. Rebecca’s husband, a veterinarian at the hospital, recruited Melissa to work with at Sandbox with Rebecca, knowing that Melissa was wonderful and talented at both administrative duties and working with families of their patients.

“I honestly didn’t know anything about autism or ABA when I started at Sandbox. It didn’t take long to see both how amazing our kiddos with autism are and how much their families struggle. My new mission became to do what I can to help our families, whether that is help them find the services they need, work to get insurance coverage for services or just be someone to talk to. I am proud to work in a family- oriented center with people who care so much about partnering with our children and families to help them live their best life!”

When not at work, Melissa enjoys live music, hiking and playing with her boys and dog, Buddy.
